The debut album of the gate group – «The Road calls» (2010).
The Gate group formed on August 26, 2001 as part of: Vadim Metal Vad Shumovsky (Guitar/Vocal), Anya Milly Severinova (Solo Guitar/Vocal), Denis Primus Dubinin (Drums). However, the first concert of the group took place only on December 19, 2003.
You will push off the ideas of the monsters of the world rock Judas Priest, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Kings of the Rock Diesel Kruger, the gate began their metal path.
In the period from 2001 to 2003, the group existed underground. Closed performances were held for friends at rehearsal bases, in garages, and even apartments. And on May 8, 2002, collecting some equipment and plunging into three cars and two motorcycles, the beginning musicians made a fun performance for open air friends in the so-called distant gardens of Voronezh. Live music played for more than three hours! It is interesting that, despite the later time, completely unfamiliar people came to the sound of guitars in kosukhi, who were warmly met by musicians. The gates gave them posters and treated them with vodka with beer. The archive of the group still contains a commemorative audio recording from that evening.
The main problem of that time was a lack of tools and places for rehearsals. In addition, very unpleasant cases often occurred. For example, once from an independently organized group of the rehearsal base, all equipment was stolen, except for drums. Probably, thieves simply could not take them away. But the musicians did not despair and continued their difficult path of garage-basement life, enjoying sunsets in nature, driving on steel horses and beer. It was in those days that the songs of a free rocker, a lone wolf and become a wind were composed. They emphasize the best and remind of dreams, feelings and thoughts of the survivors and reality surrounding it at that time.
In August of the same 2002, the first recording of the group at a professional studio was supposed to take place. But the person with whom negotiations was conducted at the last moment turned on the back, and the record fell off. After that, again, on their own, under underground conditions, the musicians recorded a demo of 4 tracks, which still walks in the hands of the entire rock test of Voronezh.
2003 came. Now the group already had a program consisting of 10 own compositions and several caverses. But there were still no opportunities for full rehearsals and records. And most importantly, there were absolutely no concerts. At that time, even the famous Voronezh groups were in the shade for several years. Problems were also added to this and inside the group. The group has changed a large number of bass players, and not one has taken root. The reasons for this were different … musical preferences or sloppy attitude. Sometimes one of the musicians simply could not get along with a new member of the group. And since the gates were very friendly, this became a significant reason for the search for other options. But in September, there was still a man who had an instrument and good games on it. It was Yuri Knight Safonov (Bass Guitar), who finally and staffed the composition of the group. Now the gates were in full combat readiness. At this time, the group rehearsed both at home with guitars and a drama machine, and a full composition in the miserable and dusty basement of the Voronezh Puppet Theater, where there was absolutely nothing to breathe. But one of these rehearsals was even shot on film.
Times changed, and Voronezh musicians began to trample the track a little, in order to hold concerts, to the cinema youth and DK Electronics. At the beginning of winter, friends from the Parfume group called the gates and offered to perform at the festival nuclear winter 2003. The positive answer followed immediately. The audience met the team with a bang!, Pouring a free beer that was attached to the ticket, arranging a frantic head-banging and dumping the fence of the scene. In the local musical press, the performance also did not go unnoticed.
2004 began with the recording of the album. The album was written on good equipment, but still at home. As a result, the record was never completed due to disagreements inside the group. But then the composition “Forward!»Until now, you can easily find on the Internet.
In the spring of the gate, together with Voronezh groups Lethargia and Absenth, they created their own rehearsal room in the recreation center Electronics. Now the problems with rehearsals were resolved, and on April 24 the second performance of the group at the Dance Macabre 3 festival with the famous Voronezh groups SkyFall, Rainwill, Necropsy. The famed Moscow group Kruger performed the concert headliners. The article dedicated to the concert, the gates said "The group becomes more powerful and confident".
The situation was getting better. The next concert was organized by the joint efforts of groups that rehearse electronics and Voronezh Metal Home. Despite the modest advertisement, the concert was successful for the organizers and fully paid off.
Summer is the dead season, both for groups and for listeners, so the next concert called Crazy Blood took place only at the end of August. The gates were headliners and received a large number of positive reviews. From a note about the concert: "As they sausage the gates are not worth talking about, it is necessary to see and hear it". The next concert in the history of the group was the Dance Macabre 4 festival, which was attended by Voronezh teams Rainwill and Skyfall, as well as Moscow guests Non Immemor Mei and Rossomahar. It was the most failure concert in the history of the group. The first composition was not even finished to the end. After this performance, the group remains without a drummer Primus’a. Despite the active search for a replacement, a suitable musician failed to find.

On December 10, in incomplete composition, the group performs several songs at a concert in DK Electronics. An ultimatum was delivered: either money or the base will be closed. The organizers of the concert returned the money, but, despite this, the base was still closed.
At the end of February 2005, in the same DC at the concert, Primus and Metal Vad are accidentally found and, having drunk beer, together they perform 2 songs in a pause between groups. Soon Metal Vad is calling the former ABSENTH guitarist, Alexey Ignatov and offers to play together. He often visited the rehearsals of the gates, and the repertoire was familiar to him. The searches of the drummer for the new composition begin. Having played with several drummers, but not having achieved understanding and the necessary results, the group calms down again. But the musicians manage to record radio in the studio 101. Voronezh composition of free rocker, which subsequently comes out on various metal compilations.
The next attempt to reanimate the gate was the proposal to speak at the Final Scream festival on September 16, 2005, dedicated to the closure of the Electronics recreation center. This time the drummers did not look for, but called Primus and, having played a couple of rehearsals, with the old program we went to the concert. The reviews were different, but there was no more enthusiasm, and they did not rehearse further.
In March 2006, the gates are offered to take part in the Metal Greenhouse of the Volchya II, as well as perform at the festival of the same name in Michurinsk. Knight did not agree to the trip, but Ignatov gave the good. The former guitarist of the Ferrum group Roman Magila Nazaryev helped out the group. He quickly learned the batch of bass guitar, and thus it was decided to go. Two days before the trip, Ignatov for unknown reasons refuses to participate in the concert. It was already impossible to look for another guitarist. And the gates are sent to the threesome festival. Despite the long pause in the life of the group, the gates performed with great enthusiasm. After drinking vodka after the performance, the musicians went to the station. Neither to meet or see the groups in Michurinsk, apparently, it was unacceptable. Despite, to put it mildly, an awkward organization, the musicians had good mood. Waiting for a clock by 3 in the morning "wood", they went to Voronezh. But the adventures did not end there. A policeman entered one of the stations, and, having checked the documents, asked some musicians to go through with him. There was no time to deal with him and, having given the last thousand rubles, the gates barely managed to sit back into the car, where their instruments remained.
Thus began a new chapter in the history of the group. A few days after the concert, Metal Vad took the equipment from Knight, which, after the base of the base in the DC, was stored in its garage for more than a year. Having removed the garage, the updated gate began rehearsals. The question regarding the second guitarist immediately arose. The searches began, which the old friend of the gates of Anton Nolequen Posyus responded, which was directly involved in all events associated with Voronezh Metal Home and the Gate group since 2003. He took the place of the bass player, and Magil was retrained to the solo guitar. Throughout the summer and autumn, the group beat the old and new material. Also, many songs were scored from the archives that had not been performed earlier. These include the compositions of the season open, become the wind (later this composition will be very fond of the public) and others. During all this time, the gates performed only once – on the bike show in Yelets.
At the end of autumn, the wolf hundred III is preparing to release, for it the team records the composition of the season open and on December 9 in the company of friends on a minibus comes to the already familiar Michurinsk. At the entrance to the musicians, one of the organizers meets and, smiling, offers to pay for the entrance to everyone who arrived with musicians, that is, to friends and friends who helped the group. A smiling comrade receives a decent answer, after which the friends of the group pass into the hall, and the gates to the dressing room. Having arranged a fucked rock and roll for 40 minutes from the allotted 25, the gates were very surprised when the audience began to sing along with a free rocker, and opened the season for the season, jumping around the hall and on each other! After the performance, in the lobby, the group communicates with some of the listeners and, having drunk beer, moves home.
On December 16, Voronezh Metal Home is arranged by a New Year’s concert in a stream of streams, inviting the Voronezh teams Little Dead Bertha, Rainwill, Absenth. The gates, who also performed at this concert, prepared a couple of New Year’s surprises, one of them was a song by a girl and matches according to Andersen’s same fairy tale, written and played with the founder of the Absce’San El Paso group, under a groovy reef from Jingle Bells, a cunning hall was drawn in a full -time hall for the full. The second surprise, unfortunately, did not take place. And this was what: Magila was supposed to go out with the Acardon and, in conjunction with heavy reefs, play oh, frost, frost (video recording of the rehearsal of this joke is stored in the archive of the group until better times). But on the penultimate song, the caver of Manowar, part of the equipment was burned out due to the volume of the sound (apparently the sound engineer did not prepare for the event enough), and the time provided for the concert ended as well.
After a week and a half, the group gets on the train and goes to Ryazan for the New Year’s performance arranged by MC OrtHodox. Ryazan groups performed at the concert, and Kruger was invited as special guests. For obscure reasons, the gates were set to play already after the headliners, so the majority of the public, deciding that the concert has ended, dispersed. But the rest was very pleased. The audience was attended by the musicians of the Kruger group. Everyone was in a good mood, listened, joked, drank, fell off. In a word, the trip was a success.
During the winter and spring of 2007, the gates continue to rehearse, abandoning the two sentences received to speak (in connection with the disagreements of the organizers and musicians), so the next concert of the gates took place only in early summer. It was the opening of the motorcycle season in Novovoronezh. Friends from the Attendation group, playing a year earlier, warned about the poor organization of the event, but as they say, a fool is studying in their mistakes … The group went. The exit was supposed to take place in 21.45, and took place only in 01.30, the microphone fought electric, there was nothing on the stage and heard. Not playing the program to the end, the gate left the stage.
At the end of June, Magila decides to leave the group due to a lack of time, as well as because of the Gelion Death Metal Death Metal. Musicians remain friends, and his place is occupied by Alexey Fucker Popov, leader of the Memorial Voronezh Metal Metal. With his arrival, the sound of the gates is enriched with melodic harmony and solo-paradise. Having looked at this process, Nolequen rewrites the bass parties, and the group carefully processes song arrangements.
On July 15, the group goes to the Tarantul Records studio to write down the composition of a lone wolf to compilation of the wolf hundred IV. The recording was made overnight, and was also the first experience of the group in a professional studio.
There is a new series of rehearsals, which continues until October, and, after a short break, in December the gates move to the rehearsal base in Tarantul Records and on December 16 perform a hundred streams at the New Year’s rock festival End 2007.
After the New Year holidays of 2008, the group wanted to do something unusual. This led to the idea of making the Nirvana and Alice in Chains groups. The search for the hall and groups for this event began. It was planned to hold a concert on February 10, on the birthday of Kurt Kobein, but for various reasons the date was postponed several times. Negotiations with different clubs and halls were held, and on April 5, on a mourning date for the world of Granda, a gate, alarm and a young group of Mate Extract Extract, play the output in the recently opened club. The gates did not choose some specific hits, but simply completely played the album in utero. The club was clogged with a bit, the same number of people were on the street, they simply could not get into the hall. The club administration was very pleased, and after a month the gates were invited again. This time the musicians execute their program. As a result, the speeches of the group in the exit become regular, 1-2 times a month.
On April 24, the gates come up with the Barca group in the Trancefloor club, and on May 2, the group participates in the concert dedicated to the opening of the motorizedoson club Motovoronezh. Under Salute in the late evening, the gates close the concert program.
At the same time, the musicians begin to plan a record of the debut album in the Tarantul Records studio, and in mid -July they begin to record, which continues for three weeks under the guidance of sound engineers Evgeny Pluzhnikov and Kirill Makovkin. Friends of the group were invited as guests for recording some vocal parties: Evgeny Godless (Aestoterra, Ex-Skyfall) and Irina Axis (Nabat). The album contains 14 compositions. Among them, both the songs known to the listener and completely new.
In October, the gates take part in the recording of the two -volume collection Rock. Teams from Voronezh, Old Oskol, Gubkin and other cities of Chernozemye also participate in the project.
At the same time, the gates participate in the festival, there is an exit and, according to the results of the voting of the students, divide the first place in the Heavy Metal category with the post -post group. On November 30, the gates appear at the celebration of the birthday of the site Motovoronezh.Ru.
